Which 55 monk build would be best?
Hi I decided that I should make a 55 monk since a little bit more income would be nice, but what build should I choose as secondary profession like Mo/N because of the spiteful spirit. And what skills do I equip with me?
Will someone please give me an idea for build and what skills they use to farm? |

They should make a guide section, and have a bunch of types of 55 monk builds and tell whats best for each area, not in forums, but the actual gwguru site. I always see this question, lol, and I asked this too before hehe.

Personally, I switch between Mo/Mes and Mo/W when 55 farming. Which secondary I choose mostly depends on my mood. Mo/Mes is excellent because you will have your own Sympathetic Visage; Mo/W is handy for the rape-stopping, energy boosting Bonetti's Defense. Essentially, you will want the basic 55 Monking skills (by your post I presume you already know what these are, or at least have a basic idea). Some nifty and handy skills for a 55 are: Sympathetic Visage Bonetti's Defense Blessed Aura Blessed Signet Balanced Stance Dolyak Signet The rest, my friend, I shall leave to you to discover (or for others to divulge). Personal preference is everything in this aspect of the game as far as I am concerned... |

Further would you people get over yourselves about the search function. Many if not most of the time I log on it is not available. And if there is one forum where people should be give some leeway it is this one where people are asking basic questions. |

I have a question, how much energy do you 55 monks have? I cant really play 55 monk good against lvl 20+, and I got 33 energy and been trying a lot of builds, havent tried shield of judgement yet though, balt aura costs to much mana I think, I cast it on, then barely enough for storm chaser then my protect spirt has like 9 seconds left and I got like 3 mana, struggling to keep mana up after I use balt aura, which doesnt seem to hurt them much I think considering 25 mana.

For those that have energy issues - try taking Blessed Signet until you get used to your energy management. |

Everyone has a personal preference to the skills they use on their 55 monk, so there are some differences in the builds. I personally use a 100% monk build on mine and it works like a charm.
My skills are: Protective Spirit Healing Breeze Blessed Signet* Zealots Fire Mending Blessed Aura Balthazars Spirit Shield of Judgement {Elite} My attribs are: Healing prayers - 6+3 Smiting Prayers - 12+3+1 Protection Prayers - 7+3 Divine Favor - 9+3 I use a Totem Axe with the -50 cesta. My armor is Canthan Ascetics with the Smite+1 helm. * Most Mo/W use Bonetti's Defence in place of Blessed Signet. I prefer Blessed Sig because it doesn't block attacks which is what SoJ relies on to cause damage to foes. Also, When the fight is over and your energy is at 6-10, you have to wait for it to recharge. With Blessed Sig, you push the button and go. As you can see, with this build your 2nd profession makes no difference. My 2nd happens to be Necro. QuanZong: With this build I have 45 Energy. Whenever I drop to around 20 I hit Blessed Sig which brings me back up into the mid 30's. That along with the +1 I get for each hit (from Balthazars Spirit) I usually end up in the 40's rather quickly. |

I agree with Dacamo, i use the exact same build. He explained it very well why bonettis defence isnt THAT good for it. Blessed Signet will give you 9 energy which will be plenty since you will be getting hit too. Even if you rush in with no blessed signet, there really shouldnt be any energy management problems.

if you go to UW get a SS necro with Echo/SS/SV/AV/reckless haste and you go with this setup (remember your role is to agro and stay alive) prot spirrit healing breeze spell breaker ELITE bonneti defence (Warrior skill, great for when energy is low) mending balthazars spirit blessed aura blessed signet (take this if your necro is not taking BR. i almost never use it because my timing is good. just use bonneti when enemy is almost dead, so i allways take Distracting Blow with me. a nice interupt skill and only costs 5 energy. great vs nightmares and colds. nice thing is that it interupts everyone near the enemy. so you can also use it vs smites if you wanna go solo farming like trolls and elona Protective Spirit Healing Breeze Blessed Signet Zealots Fire Mending Blessed Aura Balthazars Spirit Shield of Judgement i dont use SS if i go solo. because i have to spend points on curses. i got 3 sets of head armor, 1 healing, prot and smitting, all with a superior rune + the normal 1 so its a +4. if i go to UW i use the healing head armor or prot.if i go solo farming i use the smitting allways bring the -50 off hand and a totem axe. also bring a wand with you. i use the collectors wand of droknar or the end game wand because it has +5 energy. but i allways go for the axe because i use Distracting Blow. also bring kerpets refuge with you. its a great staff if you die, your healt will be like 30 hp and you got +20% longer enchants and prot skills faster recharge + casting 20%. btw other tip. 55 monking is not hard. everyone can do it. but what makes a good 55 monk is timing. i allways notice the difference in UW. if i play with my necro some 55 monks agro small groups. that is easy. if you are a good 55 monk you can agro like 3 groups. i allways agro most of the aatxe in the first room. and 3 groups of smites. makes the run quicker and if you SS is good it goes very quick. i do uw in 15 / 20 minutes so first try your 55 monk setup in droknar (trolls) then go UW. remember timing is everything. good luck Last edited by squan; Jul 25, 2006 at 06:39 AM // 06:39.. |
